You are very welcome at St. Mary's!
St. Mary's is slightly less than 1 mile from the East Devon Way and an excellent base for a variety of environments for walking or cycling - the country lanes of this Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty - the heathland of the nearby Pebblebed Heaths - the flat Otter riverside walks both upstream to Ottery St. Mary and beyond or downstream all the way to Budleigh Salterton - the woodlands flanking East Hill.
On arrival you will find boot scrapes at the doors,
a dedicated boot room where footwear and
clothing can be cleaned and dried
and a secure garage for cycle
storage, as well as an outdoor
water point for washing bicycles
and outdoor clothing. I'm sure a
luxurious soak in the bath would
be welcome, or perhaps a nice
warm shower in the wetroom
would ease those aching limbs?
The Golden Lion pub/bistro is 6 minutes' walk away for a hearty evening meal or Sunday lunch (I can reserve a table for you in advance) and I can make you a packed lunch. There is a fridge with freezer compartment available for you to store your ice packs in overnight. If you would like to self-cater I can take an order for basic grocery items prior to your arrival. You can serve yourself a substantial continental breakfast at any time convenient to you
