About Us

Hello! I'm Becky

I teach piano, cello, guitar and singing at home so you may want to have a music lesson whilst staying at St. Mary's!  I prepare pupils for exams of the ABRSM and Rockschool, and could quite easily help with ABRSM aural test preparation on other instruments.

My pupils and their families use the entrance hall and have access to the WC in the shower room and, occasionally the Garden Room.  But I only teach between 2 pm and about 7.30 pm on weekdays, and mostly only in school term-time.

So I am available in the mornings (at breakfast and check out time) and, if I am teaching when you want to check in, my husband or one of my (late teenage) children will welcome you or will be available if you have any queries.

I am an active member of Tipton St. John (Anglican) Church, singing in the choir as well as various other roles that keep me busy.  In what little free time I have I enjoy gardening, watching films, TV drama and playing the cello,(including with the Exmouth Light Orchestra), guitar and piano and singing with The Southernhay Singers in Exeter.

Welcome to the Williamson family home.  David and I married in 1987.  We (and our two children) moved into this Edwardian house in 2002, captivated by the lovely situation and views from St. Mary's.  In 2009 we extended the house to provide lots of room for friends and family visiting, but this was under-used until Spring 2013, when we began offering bed and breakfast (or room only) accommodation.

David

My husband works full-time (weekdays) in a finance team in Exeter and is also very busy at home as he is a Reader in the Church of England.

Although not a musician himself, he enjoys listening to music.  He plays 5-a-side football and enjoys watching football (both soccer and American) and Formula One motor racing.

Supporting our local rural economy

The apple juice (and apples in season) provided for you come from Four Elms Fruit Farm, just over one mile away and other food and drink is from local suppliers wherever possible.  We are also happy to recommend eating at The Golden Lion Bistro in the village, who serve locally sourced food or Tipton Stores for hot or cold snacks and all your other provisions (both are just 6 minutes' walk away).

David and I enjoy visiting other parts of Great Britain and have taken the best of our experiences of guest accommodation to try to make your stay here as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
